Hola Family,

There is a prophecy in the Sápara mythology that says one day they would lose their language and disappear...

15 years ago the young people in the Sápara communities were unsatisfied with the approaching truth of this prediction and wanted to do something about it.

They wanted to keep their culture and way of life alive and even if their fate was to disappear, and leave their knowledge for the world.

This was the impetus to create a community-based tourism project, which was the beginning of an on-going cultural exchange - a way to share their culture with the outside, but also to receive new insights about the dream world and new allies to help in their mission.

Naku Foundation is a piece of that puzzle. ​

This is not just a one-way linear interaction. We are not just helping or donating to keep things the same on either end. We are co-weaving...connecting their ancestral wisdom with our modern gifts.

We can use our position and our access to uplift and support them so they may amplify their message, reach more people and help influence modern culture to shift in a positive way. This would lead to more communities like the Sápara getting the support they need, while the modern world expands its understanding and way of being towards a more harmonious and reciprocal relationship with humanity and nature. ​
